"FORGIVENESS is not something we do for OTHER PEOPLE.
We do it for OURSELVES
to GET WELL and MOVE ON!"
Forgiveness is one of the first steps into healing. Forgiving someone for hurting you may or may not change your circumstances, but it will free your heart allowing you to heal and ultimately move forward.
Forgiveness is something we can incorporate into our daily lives... like putting on our shoes before we go out the door each day. If we consciously forgive someone each day our relationships will improve and spirits will be lighter.
When thinking of forgiving someone, we usually think of the big hurts, but we can forgive for the little hurts too. Forgive someone who annoyed you, the driver of the car who cut you off, the friend who forgot to call, or the harsh tone someone used with you that day.
